That shot brings back some memories. My one and only trip on the South Shore was in 1977 and I remember the crew allowing us to stand next to the open baggage door, similar to the one in the picture on #102 most of the way from Michigan City to Gary. He closed the door near Gary and said they didn't like to keep them open from Gary into Chicago, but what a great ride.
