On a trip from Emeryville to Sparks with the former CN touring car Burrard many years ago, we had a moron who ran up to the departing Zephyr, having just departed from a Capitol Corridor train, throw his bags over the platform railing and leap up and grab onto the same railing.
When asked, what the hell he thought he was doing, this Darwin award candidate announced that he didn't want to miss his train.
A short call on the radio to #6's conductor offered that we had a package for him to pick up from the rear end at Richmond.
And no, we did not let Bozo inside to take a seat. Those of us on the platform gave him his full ration until he was released to the conductor at Richmond.
