The SP 2603 in the first photo is an old friend. When we bought the SP Molalla branch in 1993, our own locomotive (SW-8 #801) was not yet ready for service.

Since SP wanted us to take over IMMEDIATELY they had the Oregon City Switcher (which operated at night) tie up at Canby so we could use their power during the day. Just so happened that the 2603 was the regular unit for a couple of weeks and we got to know her well.

Brian McCamish's website www.oregonpacific.com has a photo of the 2603 on the bridge over Mulino Road heading towards Molalla.
