Hi Mike
I have been waiting for someone to post the correct answer. My thoughts on the subject are that coming east out of LA, I believe that Cajon has places where the grade is about plus or minus 2%. Going east out of SLC over to Cheyenne, I am thinking the grade is plus or minus 1.25%. Have no idea if this is why but it might have something to do with removing the one unit.
Anyone else out there know the answer?
