Thanks for mentioning that.
I talked some friends into going to a Monday Night Game of the Week against the Dodgers.
True to form, the Giants let them get a big early lead, I think it was something like
7-1, but don't quote me. Anyway, Chuck Conners was a guest announcer and made a crack about
how the Giants couldn't possibly overcome that lead.
Well, they got 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th, making it a 3 run ballgame.
When the first guy got on base in the ninth, I leaned over & told my friends that they were
going to win this one. They ended up loading the bases, Jim Brewer was brought in to face
Bobby Bonds and he sent the ball out into the night & 40,000 some odd fans went home
deliriously happy. Go Giants,
