mark: there were four 1913 steel nails used by NP, all a little different from the other in appearance, but all steel and 2 1/2 inches long. the most common is the 13 that has a little "flag" at the top of the one. it has a fairly large head. then there are two nails with a smaller head and the date is much smaller than the common nail. these two were made by the same manufacturer but there are two variations in this nail. these have no "flag" on the top of the one. the last and rarest of the 13's used by NP is much like the first in size and appearance, but there is no "flag" on the one and the one and three are much further apart from each other when compared to the other three nails.
i hope this helps rather than confuses?
the milwaukee copper nails are fairly common, but there are four or five dates that are hard to find and worth a premium.
