Is it me or does UP use too little hp

During SP days, track was good and many EB "climbers" made track speed of 50 between Rosey and Colfax. Just my observation that the UP trains now have minimal units to make the climb under perfect weather, rail surface and computer interfacing. Those sd45 must have been something wonderful with the skill of two hogheads (head and helper).
Yes, I also shot video at Long Ravine in 1990 of an embarassing stall out below Cape Horn and the retreating back-up to the Colfax siding. I think UP wants to avoid that as well.
