Nice info. I would point out that the shots at Pepper Street (The Railfan Hangout) are usually of the 'Trim Job'. Unlike the tradidional Hump yard a train ready to depart W Colton may (usually did) still have it's tail section in a Bowl track. This explains the Reverse loop as the other way out is over the hump. The trim job would pull out the first half of the train and also couple train halves before power was put on and Carmen did air test. Good Diagram and article in a 1960's issue of 'Modern Railroad.
