FYI, Rush sometimes points out the numbers that are reported as his "salary". He says none of them are correct. In the Barbra Walters interview last year (or was it two years ago?), she asked him a question that went something like this: "Rush, it is reported that you just signed a contract for $45 million per year. Are you worth that much money?". And his answer was very simple: "No...I am worth more. I'm worth as much as I can possibly get". If you understand capitalism, then you will understand his answer. If you understand Socialism, then his answer will confuse you.

You are obviously in the minority. If he preached "vicious nonsense", he would not be earning the extremely high salary that he is signed for. Quite the opposite---he is earning large sums of money because of the exact opposite of what you wrote. If you do not understand this basic concept in income and what your work is worth, then I can not assist you. You would need to attend Economics 101 to learn these basic principles. I always get a kick out of people calling Rush "vicious" and other derogatory terms. This tells me that you do not listen to Rush. The only thing that you know about Rush is what is REPORTED about him, and what is reported about him is almost always completely false or taken WAY out of context. I never miss his program--I listen 3 hours a day, 5 days week. Rush is not vicious, and if you listened, you would know this. You would know about his philanthropy, you would know that he is not the racist/bigot/homophobe that he is reported to be (Elton John performed at his wedding......they are now friends, and Sir Elton and his partner have been invited to spend a vacation at Rush's house in West Palm Beach, and Sir Elton returned the invite to him and his new bride Kathryn to come to London to stay with them). Rush is one smart cookie...you really have to follow him in order to understand what he is saying sometimes. The man is brilliant. If he wasn't, then he would not be able to stay at the #1 slot in talk radio for 21 years in a row. Think about that----21 years in a row. That's nothing to sneeze at (and the #2 talker---Hannity---doesn't even come close to Rush's numbers). If Rush was the person that the left portrays him to be, his show would have been shut down years ago. The reason the left hates him is because they know how dangerous he is because he exposes the left and shows them for who they truly are. Why else would George Soros pour millions and millions of dollars into a website whose sole purpose (when initially created) was to get rid of Rush Limbaugh (Media Matters). Soros can pour all the money he wants into this stuff (and he is!), but he will continue to fail. The truth trumps everything else, and a wise person should know this.

I didn't realize that my "Christmas" comment would generate so many comments. And by the way, to "Minnehaha Hiawatha": I never mentioned President Clinton. I find it interesting that you made that comparison on your own. It's obvious that you are aware of the fact that many Americans question our current president's religious values. He sat in the pew for 20 years listening to a guy who preached Black Liberation Theology. Do you know what that is? Are you aware of what Reverend Wright preached? Are you aware that our president threw Wright under the bus, and said, "That's not the Reverend Wright that I know".....even though his entire family was dear friends with him?

I won't try to change your mind---I know I can't. You are stuck in a world of hope and change, and maybe, just maybe, you will someday see the light and understand who it is that we have in the White House right now. It ain't pretty...it's damn scary. And what does this have to do with trains? It has everything to do with trains, because trains are our hobby. This website is part of our hobby. The man in the White House wants control over you, me, and everyone. I wish I could somehow take my knowledge of how horrible many parts of the world are (that are controlled by people like our current president) and plant them into your head so that you can see what's going on. But unfortunately, I haven't found a way to do that. But the guy in the Oval Office is dangerous....very, very dangerous. He wants us all to be equally miserable. That's what Socialism is----equal misery. You can't be the best that you can be with this president's pattern of belief--it's impossible. As he famously said to "Joe the Plumber" during the campaign, Obama wants to "spread the wealth". That means he wants everyone to be equally miserable. I wish I could get this across to those who just laugh this off. We're in serious trouble right now. World leaders are laughing at us----they know what a dunce we have as president. They also know he is weak. Just imagine Iran with a nuclear weapon. Or imagine a nuclear weapon getting out of control of the Afghanistan government. The world will end---the terrorists WILL fire the missiles in the name of Allah. This is serious stuff. And THAT is why it is relevant to trains and any other hobby. If the man in the White House gets his way, we won't have any hobbies. Our main goal in life will be day-to-day survival.....
