The comment was based on a couple of things:
1. Back when Beck held his liberty rally in Washington dc, he disparaged Obama's christian beliefs, something to the effect that Obama's Christianity isn't "real".
2. If you listen to the odd and sundry alleged christian broadcasters that can be found all over the am/fm/shortwave radio dial, you will find that most "christian" broadcasters, such as the "bible answer man" (hank hanagraf(sp?)), regard Mormons as nothing more than a satanic cult.
Hence, there is a sort of irony in Beck's attitude toward Obama's beliefs. Sort of the pot calling the kettle black.
>And what possible difference does his somehow "known" religion make anyway.
Using the word "known" in the manner that I did is a common propaganda technique used to disparage opponents in a debate. See the reference to Mormons just above.

I don't listen to Beck. The post was based on news reports on his public rally.
However, I do listen to radio religion, the broadcasts of these people can range from funny to mind boggling to down right scary in their use of "logic" to defend their positions. If you want to experience religious intolerance at its finest, listen to these "preachers", it can be enlightening.
