NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RAILROAD PASSENGERS HERALDS POOR MATH SKILLS TO PUSH RAIL IMPROVEMENTS
The National Association of Railroad Passengers today announced that the level of math skills in the general populace has sunk to a level that allows them to push for incredible spending on wasteful transit projects. President Alfred E Newmann said in an interview, "The average person is unable to do the simple math on Amtrak fares, so the time is ripe for expansion". For example, a trip from San Diego to Los Angeles is $34 on Amtrak. The same 111 mile trip in a 14MPG SUV consumes roughly 8 gallons of gas. To add insult to injury, the subsidy on the trip is $125 which comes out of the general fund. "We thank educators for giving us the opportunity."
