Apreciated your comment on NWP memories. recalling the night the Pullman Cond allowed me to sit on the back obs platform all night but not to enter the sleeper as I had a coach tkt..so I about froze but stuck it out all the way to Eureka..back when Ken Kidder was helpful showing us the A&MR and boat to Samoa..etc// but the question = Curious.. how long was Pickerings longest route?.Seems it reached border of Calaveras Big Trees..Were trains dispatched with meets? Did common carrier cars ever move over the line and was a passenger car such as from the Sierra ever employed for workers or excursion for workers or such? thx Tom ff
