If you magnify the picture with the last two passenger cars you can see what appear to be the shapes of 7 letters on the name board. This would be consistent with S A N T A F E. They are obviously Budd fluted-side stainless steel cars, so that also fits Santa Fe. Who knows why they were in Tacoma, behind another flag's consist, however.
