Mike,
You are soo right! The trains I see passing me today with all the graffitti on them are not the trains that I watched as a kid growing up in the 1970's and a teenager growing up in the 1980's. It started to get bad and out of hand, litterally overnight when I was a young man in the early 1990's! This is part of the reason I don't go out of my way to watch a freight train go by anymore. If I am already there, it is one thing, and I will usually stay if it is. It is an off turner for me, especially when I (because of my age) know the positive difference. These young kids don't have a clue, sad, but true.
Ah, those were the days, indeed.
