Didn't shoot Kodachrome? Fake it.
In my misguided youth an equally misguided but well meaning professional photog convinced me I should shoot Anscochrome because the "muted" colors were more life-like and I could process it at home. So for years I have had these faded Anscochromes (I won't mention the color shifted Ektachromes)stored away and largely ignored. A bunch got thrown away.
Then I got a scanner and Photoshop. I have been amazed at how well Photoshop can restore the color in a faded old slide, and noise reduction programs can help alleviate the grain. Here is a link to an example:
A fake Kodachrome
The color shifted Ektachromes are harder to fix, but they can be fixed with some skill and patience, neither of which I am very good at. But here is an Ektachrome example:
Sorta restored Ektachrome
The moral.....just because you weren't smart enough to shoot Kodachrome, don't give up.
