When the oil cans ran over the Tehacahapi's the helpers were cut out at either Sylmar, or in rare cases went to Taylor Yard. When the plant at Mojave was in service (after the days at Saco) they would continue on to Dolores. The cans are, as you say, run in cuts of 13 cars account of the hose connections.
