Here is a thought. If the conductor did the RIGHT THING, then let's track down his name and get his side. Only three people can hold that position, it shouldn't be very complicated to track that conductor down. There IS for a fact, a close to retirement age conductor on that run that is less than professional in his dealings with the public. I do know what I am talking about here. Also, there is a "darker than I" car attendant that begins her shift eastbound out of Flagstaff that is very rude to, as has been mentioned earlier, PAYING customers if they are asleep in the upper lounge car. These are the attitudes of Amtrak employees on the Albquerque to Kingman run. Maybe this "seasoned" conductor went actually over the line and exerated the facts about this person's condition. Was his luggage set off also? Just because the bulk of you on this website look at railroad employees as "heros" and place them on pedistals from your "outside looking in" viewpoints does not necessirily mean that this conductor was in any way compassionate to the person that laid down his $$$$ to pay a portion of that conductor's pay. Did he do the right thing? the answer IS OUT THERE.
