Alf-- Ask and you shall receive......
SP-10 Budd RDC
A contact in Galveston, Tx. tells me that the former one & only RDC that
was once SP-10 still resides at the Galveston RR Museum & "IS FOR SALE"..
The car retains it's SP home brew repairs to one end of the car, before
Hurricane IKE, the interior had been completely refurbished & was set up
for organized tours.. Unfortunately IKE flood waters came up to just
under the window frames & did substantial damage to repairs that had
been completed only a year or two before.
Restoration of the car is possible, but would likely need to be
re-trucked in order to be moved by rail, the BUDD built stainless steel
is reported to be in good condition.. (Neither engine works, both had
sustained freeze damage many years ago.)
If interested, check the "contacts" at: www.galvestonrrmuseum.com for
details.
