West Oakland Carshop/Diesel shop

Is time up for the West Oakland Carshop/Diesel shop? On Sunday, I saw this early 20th Century building (one of the few remaining historic structures in the West Oakland yard) surrounded by a chain link fence. There had been an effort to preserve the building, has that run its course?
