Why make a long, difficult (traffic), and often impossible (winter time) trip to Reno when so-called Indian gaming right here in Northern California is so much closer and more affordable too.

As the Feds grant Indian sovereignty on small parcels of land right in the middle of Bay Area cities, it will only get worse. And there is nothing the states of California or Nevada can do about it. - Too Bad!

And yes, the trench was the stupidest idea around. The local politicians blamed the railroad's presence for all their problems. But it turns out the railroad was part of the ambiance, of the "Biggest Little City In The World". The place is a sterile cold shell of a place now. Not only that, but it costs way to much on Amtrak to get there from California - more even than all the way to Salt Lake or Denver! And the airlines aren't any better either.
