UPRR:
July 2, 2007

Heavy rains over the past several days in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas have caused flooding and track washouts on our north/south mainlines connecting Kansas City, Ft. Worth and North Little Rock. While some repairs are underway, portions of our main line tracks remain under six feet of water, with repairs not expected to begin until Tuesday or Wednesday in some areas, as flood waters begin to recede.

We are detouring trains where possible; however, customers can anticipate delays of 48 hours or longer on shipments moving between Kansas City, North Little Rock and Ft. Worth. We will continue to provide updates as flood waters recede and crews can fully assess damage to the track structure. At this time, detour train operations are not expected to resume normal routing until mid to late week. Operations in the affected area will be slightly slower than normal as more permanent repairs continue following the opening of the routes.

Shortlines: SKOL/SEK in South east KS has most of the mainline from Winfield KS to Pittsburg, Down to Coffeyville and Tulsa with over 30 miles of the 280 mile lines under water.

Water now heading east into Missouri BNSF may be affected down around Springfiled and on the Main from Springfield to Tulsa.
