History Channel "Boneyard" Program

The History Channel ran a railroad-themed episode of its "Boneyard" program last week and, while very informational, also contained a number of errors.

The program indentified the year 1949 as when the diesel-electric locomotive began replacing steam power. I wonder who checked their facts for them, and how they happened to miss the mid-to-late 1930s, when diesels first began to make their mark on railroading (particularly on passenger trains) and the early 1940s, when freight diesels such as the EMD FT began showing up in significant numbers.

The program segment on the Colorado Railcar/GrandluxeRail Journeys operation referenced the work being done on a former Union Pacific dome car, and showed footage of dome coach #7001, which has been in the AOE/Grandluxe stable since the late 1990s. However, it misidentified the car as a diner.
