Any of You out there ever ride in a U-50 ? I've always wondered what a mainline ride in either type (B+B B+B or C C) would have been like. Also, I wonder what a ride in a UP turbine would have been like. I have been told that they were incredibly noisy. What year were freight train speeds reduced to 70 max.??? Would any of the above mentioned units ever been on the point of a train (either UP or SP) doing more than 70??????
