Dad and I shot a lot of 8mm movies the first 3 years of operation at Camp 6. I was one of the group that did most everything out there, cleaning, building, brakeman, sometimes fireman, etc. so was in a great spot to record it. I finally got it together at Vimeo! The crowds the first day of operation were amazing!

Camp 6 Forest Museum 1968-71 from Stephen Thompson on Vimeo.

8mm movies shot by my father and I in the early days of Camp 6 at Point Defiance Park, in Tacoma, Washington. They show Norm Elsner, the former engineer on this engine, as he prepares and operates Shay #7, along with the rest of us that worked there.

The sound is dubbed from various recordings I made here and there, along with royalty free music, as the originals are silent.
