Great photo, Steve. As most already know, this is the famous "Four Aces" (1111) locomotive from Timken, equipped with roller bearings. The engine was used on a number of PNW excursions on the NP. There was a major movement on at the time to try to preserve the locomotive instead of scrapping her. The group, spearheaded by famous NP photographer "Ron Nixon", was in negotiations with the NP and things seemed favorable to the groups wishes.
However, all of a sudden the locomotive was cut-up in the NP's "South Tacoma Shops" and this great engine was lost forever...
