Now lets see! - Ronald Reagan fired some people in the government run part of the airline industry - therefore, he hates trains. That logic is indeed breathtaking! As for Joe Biden, Does he actually "like" trains; or does he just like Votes? Being from Delaware, he couldn't have gotten elected without supporting trains!

The real irony in your statement - is your statement. Fact is, that Ronald Reagan merely enforced existing law, whether he actually "liked" it or not. Federal employees have generally never had collective bargaining rights. Not ever! (congress has always put itself above the rest of us).

The irony here is in a politician actually honoring the law as it was written! Actually putting the law above his own personal feelings. His personal feeling are clearly evidenced by the fact that he was previously the leader of one of the most powerful, tightly run unions in the country. During his tenure in that union office, nobody worked anywhere in his industry without being a member - and no member ever dared to not take part in an "economic action". Few other unions could ever boast that - Not ever!

How many politicians nowadays actually respect any law at all - such as the constitutional requirement that we not engage in war unless we were attacked first; without first getting a publicly debated resolution from our own congress, not the UN. Does the UN now supplant the authority of our own congress? I hope not! If so, American democracy is gone!

But then again, the current occupant of the white house did honestly and clearly tell us what his personal feelings were - that the "Constitution is obsolete and antiquated, and just gets in the way." Too bad we did not listen back then. Or is it that personal feelings in this country are now simply above the law. Does that describe everybody - or just politicians.

Has to be everybody (at least the last majority)! Else how could such politicians get elected. It does merely reflect what we have become as a nation. Too bad the result of that bit of public iniquity will be yet another foreign war; and of course, eventually, even more concentrated power of the few over the many.

And just think - even more money that won't be going go to our precious trains.
