SP GP9's Along Sunol Blvd August 1985

SP's line thru Niles Canyon and over Altamont had been closed for some time but, in the summer of 1985, the section from East Pleasanton to Sunol was reopened. Two new underpasses were being built on the UP so their trains and SP's local out to Radum used the SP's old line.

August of 1985 found SP GP9 #3765 leading the way just South (or RR West) of Verona Rd. alongside Sunol Blvd. Although the rail was later removed, this section has been rebuilt and is now part of the Niles Canyon Railway.
