Enjoyed a weekend prowling around, a few years ago during our post retirement RV expedition.

The Sheffield viaduct is a great show. At the west end is an independent grocery store with a more than adequate parking lot and a great view. "Neverending" freights, of many colors.
The railroad crossing below, amongst the steel fabrication plant still exists, but much quieter.

The Missouri River maze of crossing lines, including UP's overcrossing of everything is another great show. Some of the street crossings are owned by both cities or both states or both counties or nobody. "Exciting" This engineer's head wobbled.

Study Altamont's KC Timetable. Good map.

The KC Missouri depot has been saved, restored, and has some exhibits.

Other than the normal government buildings on the hill South of the depot, the primary reason for KC MO is Hallmark, big time.

Didn't tour around Argentine, BNSF (ATSF) yard and shops well South-West of the river crossing.
