70? Where are all of them?

So, going from south to north I can think of the following operational locomotives (feel free to add/edit)

Poway and Midland: 1
Orange Empire Rwy Museum: 1
SBRHS: 1
Disneyland: 5
Knott's: 2
Fillmore and Western: 2
Santa Margarita Ranch: 3
Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine RR: 2
Railtown: 3
Roaring Camp: 7
Niles Canyon/GGRM: 3
CSRM: 3?
California Western RR: 1
Yreka Western: 1
Various Private: 5-10?

Not 70, but over 40, and that is everything from Colorado Narrow Gauge, Logging, Hawaiian Plantation, several generations of local branch line and even several large mainline locomotives. California certainly has a healthy supply of steam and a good number beyond that under restoration. (Now just imagine the possible turnout for the next Railfair in Sacramento).

Compare that to next door, Arizona, where there are 1, maybe 2 operating locomotives?
