Bob -- glad you are able to ride this wonderful
detour. Who are some of the rail luminaries,
besides Chris G. and Chris F.??

You will actually be able to traverse the Loop
in the daytime -- finally! ETA at the Loop
should be around
6 pm, if all goes well. And your arrival at
LAUPT will be at a much more reasonable hour
than previous #11 detours last month. (around
9 pm? hopefully!)

(I rode the #11 detour back in 2005 when then-
Amtrak President' David Gunn had the "Beech Grove"
behind the train. (Oct. 23, 2005). we seemed to have
rights over almost every other train on the RR --
and did not bother to go to Oakland after Sacramento --
just ran south down the Valley directly to LA, arriving
at 5:05 pm! Did not stop once between Sacramento
and Bakersfield. wow...:) We highballed Fresno.)
