Not sure where you are going with this "D' but it is no secret that underneath this luxurious Dorothy Draper decorated palace is a bunker built during WWII to house all the DC politicos in case of some kind of wartime attack. I believe they used to give tours of the area. I understand that CSX (who originally owned it) finally unloaded this wonderful resort dinosaur on Marriott with some kind of lease to see if they can make it work in these times of lowered economic expectations. Furthermore, Ross Rowland has purchased the carcass trainset of the former AOE and Grand Luxe and then Anshutz's trial effort with it and is going to launch the "Greenbrier Express" running people from somewhere to the resort in White Sulpher Springs on a once a week trip for some big bucks. Should be interesting to see this play out.

PS--we had reservations to stay at the Greenbrier at a discount since I was a CSX stock holder----like $450 night instead of $750 or some such. It was whatever year they had the big hurricane and floods and we were in Chicago waiting to board the Cardinal when CSX shut down everything and we had to unravel all our plans, take a coach seat on the Capitol to DC and cancel our Greenbrier reservations. Sigh.
