I usually stay out of these things because as somebody accurately pointed out once, you
are not going to change peoples minds and win a political argument. I'll admit to being
as bad as the rest on this.
That being said, I feel that the attempts to return an active rail line to this part of
the woods are being stymied just because they can be. That seems to be much of what
is stifling our country today. You have maybe half the population pulling in one
direction and half pulling in the other. Very little gets done that way. Granted, the
lumber traffic that was the backbone of NWP revenue for years seems all but gone for good,
but any loads that you can get off of HWY 101 contribute to public safety. The NWP is
the easy scapegoat here, it's segments of the public who should be under scrutiny.
I have no problem with differing opinions, but identify yourself please.
