Additional info on Central West Timetable

A few people have inquired why the price of the Central West Timetable is relatively more expensive than other timetables ($29.95). I'd like to explain why the price can be misleading. I began a realignment of the timetable regions in 2008 to eliminate the Mountain Plains Region. Montana was moved to Northwest Timetable No. 8, while Nebraska and Wyoming were merged with the Rocky Mountain timetable to form Central West No. 1.

This is how the product lineup used to look:
Rocky Mountain Timetable No. 7 -- CO, UT, NV -- $19.95
Mountain Plains Timetable No. 4 -- NE, WY, MT -- $18.00
Northwest Timetable No. 7 -- AK, ID, OR, WA -- $19.95
Total Cost in 2005: $57.90

And here is the new realignment:
Central West Timetable No. 1 -- CO, NE, NV, UT, WY -- $29.95
Northwest Timetable No. 8 -- AK, ID, MT, OR, WA -- $22.95
Total Cost in 2011: $52.90

There is a substantial amount of "new" trackage in Central West No. 1 never before covered in Altamont Press timetables. Due to space limitations, some subdivisions used to be severed if they extended beyond the limits of the timetable region. I tried to abandon this practice wherever possible, and it resulted in a lot of new territory:

UP Falls City Sub - extended 95.2 miles to Kansas City (previously in Kansas City Timetable No. 1)
UP Cima Sub - extended 18 miles to Kelso, CA (also covered in California Timetable No. 20)
BNSF Creston Sub - extended 82.2 miles to Creston, IA
BNSF St Joseph Sub - extended 96.9 miles to Kansas City (previously in Kansas City Timetable No. 1)
BNSF La Junta Sub - extended 263.6 miles to Ellinor, KS
BNSF Strong City Sub - all new 127.6 miles (subdivision not covered before)
BNSF Twin Peaks Sub - extended 54.7 miles to Sixela, NM (previously in Southwest Timetable No. 5)
BNSF Boise City Sub - extended 122.6 miles to Amarillo (previously in Southwest Timetable No. 5)
BNSF Raton Sub - extended 110.1 miles to Las Vegas, NM (previously in Southwest Timetable No. 5)
KYLE - entire railroad now covered, for an additional 390.9 miles
V&S Railway - (ex-MoP line from NA Jct [Pueblo] to Towner, CO) additional 121.9 miles
K&O Railroad - all new 83.5 miles, Towner, CO to Healy, KS (line not covered before)
Garden City Western - all new 39.9 miles in Kansas (railroad not covered before)
Deseret Power Railway - all new 34.5 miles in CO/UT (railroad not covered before)
Cimarron Valley - entire railroad now covered, for an additional 158.1 miles
Virginia & Truckee - extended 16.6 miles for the new reconstruction to Carson City
Nevada Southern - all new 4.1 miles (railroad not covered before)
UTA Frontrunner - all new 39.1 miles (railroad not covered before)

Besides the savings in price, the Central West Timetable covers an additional 1859.5 route miles that didn't appear in the Rocky Mountain and Mountain Plains timetables. Of that amount, 1240.1 miles are completely new to Altamont timetables.
