This is the biggest issue with nearly all the transit built in LA since 1984. It's not being built where it's neeeded (well, maybe except for the Red Line and the Blue Line); it's being built where it's simplest to get it done.
Green Line - no Norwalk Metrolink Connection - no Airport Connection
Purple Line - ends in Korea Town
Orange Line - busway which cannot be exapnded to allow for the potential riders that a railway would accomodate (and the ridership is there)
Silver Line - El Monte Side has plenty of riders, Harbor Side is under utilized
Gold Line - goes too slow due to excessive grade crossings and areas where horns can't be too loud
While there is some mitigation going on in the future, all of these are the way they are 100% because of politics.
