The new railroad for container traffic between Humboldt Bay and Wendall CA. appears to be reality. Survey crews were spotted in the Mad River and Trinity River basins. A forest service employee confirmed that there is a scouting crew in the national forest and it was his belief that the project was the efforts of a consortium of BNSF, UP and others. Apparently another line will be built between Wendall and Nampa, Idaho connecting to BNSF lines not just UP's route to Winnenmuca.
