A "pure" F40PH led Amtrak #11 crosses a dry Chalone Creek near Metz, California on the Coast Line in September of 1997. It used to be we couldn't get rid of the F40PH in the 1980's and 1990's. Now they are as rare as a Studebaker on the head end of the Starlight.
