I grew up in Selleck and went to Selleck grade school for 7 years in 1955 to 1962.
My mom Irma Cardone Benson went there too, first through eighth grade. My Dad Henry Benson worked in the mill as a milwright as a young man. He also worked in the logging camp behind selleck for a while. He and Sammy Swanson got stuck at the logging camp one winter in snow and ice for a week. He told me when I was little that there were 13 locamotives servicing the sawmill and the logging camp.They were married in 1942 and their honey moon was at Lake Retreat the first cabin on the right when you went into the park.
