I've heard a report from a fan who got a flat tire last week while scouting out Stampede Pass. He said the road to Martin is clear, however the road across the top is still snowed in. I wonder if the railroad will make an attempt to drive the road in advance of 4449's run this Saturday, just in case they have to access the train or tracks on the West side. Maybe a fan with a big 4WD truck will blaze a way through for us all ??? I have to think that with all the different agencies that use the road, ( BNSF, Tacoma Water, Bonneville Power, Puget Sound Energy, USFS, Fish & Game ), maybe someone has already driven across the top ???
