The SP-painted F-unit at CEECO belongs, as far as I know, to a rail preservation group in the San Francisco Bay area. This is the one that suffered brake problems enroute to the 2005 NRHS national convention in Portland. It was operating on the Rails Unlimited excursion consist that came up from California for the event and was set out bad order along the way.
It's been at CEECO for more than a year (I photographed it there in April 2006 sitting on the same track with Golden Pacific's former RDG T-1 4-8-4, #2100, which was getting some boiler repairs at the time).
As for the TALGO, this is also the set that split a switch at the north end of Portland Union Station in February 2006. It went to CEECO for damage repair as well as for overhaul and repainting.
The MILW E9, as far as I know, came from a private owner in the Midwest for use on the Golden Pacific trains, to assist the 2100 (along with the FLNX, ex-Amtrak F40PH also used on the trains).
The string of of passenger rolling stock parked next to the Tacoma Rail shops may be the one I've seen there on my previous visits to the area. They're lettered for Tacoma Rail. I believe that these are the cars TR brought in for its proposed "Train to the Mountain" service and never used. Does anyone know what TR plans to do with them?
