UP SD-40's today

Two of UP's reconditioned SD-40's were sporting their fresh paint and Run-8 sounds returning to Fresno today whipping north through Kingsburg. I have to admit, bloody nose and Confederate grey would have looked fantastic, but they sure looked great in their own right. Alumininum painted trucks would really be a nice touch, grime notwithstanding.

I wish the BNSF would put theirs (in the 1500 series renumbering) back in roadswitcher service, but alas, they get relegated to RCO operations, for the most part. One exception: last year, I worked the Boron local, and we had four of them in the consist. That was good stuff!
