It was interesting growing up in SF where I lived across the street from the gentleman that processed Beebe's photos and glass plates. When he passed his daughter gave me a number of signed books that were given to him by Beebe and Clegg.

Also of interest two doors up lived Frank Vale. He was the photographer who chronicled the Golden Gate bridge project during and after the construction.

Both gentlemen were nice enough to encourage my early picture taking, even with an a Brownie camera. And Drew, both said that learning to composite your photo is the most important; a good darkroom man could take care of everything else.
