Thanks Charles & Drew for the answers. Wonder where the other Coos Bay diesles went to? I had a chance to visit there & passed it by...the vagaries of youth. Same thing with Hammond out of Samoa, CA, they ran into 1971 IIRC, but that was pretty quiet & obscure.
Drew, were you able to photograph either or both of the steamers? At least as late as the 70's, they also had a small diesel Shay on the property. You did well to get up there. Does
not sound like the roads have been worked on at all in the last 40 years!
