The life and death of Flimsies magazine

Cleaning out my garage I found a box of Flimsies magazines. I guess Charlie Baden started it, I don't know for sure. I used to love that little rag. It filled a nice void providing more current info than CTC Board or Pac News could. The hotline was wonderful. Hearing the late Bill Farmer or the Tehachapi Kid provide hot news was a very useful tool even for this old man. I guess the T Kid was Bruce Veary? Jeezz don't remember, brain getting too old now. Looking back Flimsies was a bridge between magazines and the internet. I suppose the internet killed it off. Miss the old SP Review too. Tony Johnson did a great job on those. I still have a few hanging around here somewhere. I saved most of them, too good for the local landfill. Whatever became of Mr. Baden anyway?
