The Amador Foothills Railroad is alive and well. But instead of trains we are running speeders. I am sure several people on the list know that the Recreational Railroad Coalition leased the railroad from Ione to Martell.

Right now we are rebuilding the west leg of the wye that was torn up when the diesel took over from steam. The hope is with help from the city of Ione we will be able to lease all the track in the Ione yard and the former station.

It is very sad to hear of another land mark being destroyed.
