While enjoying a visit at the Amador County Fair recently, I noticed a railroad exhibit. I only had a few minutes to speak with an attendant at the exhibit. The conversation lead to him informing me that there will soon be federal funding of approximately 12 million dollars to construct a rail line from Martell easterly into the Sierras to near Silver Lake. He mentioned that the project was a coop between the feds and SPI corp. He also told me that I could find more info at this website; amadorhistoricrailroad.com . However, the site was not available.

I would enjoy learning more about this project. I can be reached at bowman@volcano.net
