The washout is located at roughly mp 15.5 just south of Dee. Dee is the location of a lumber mill that used to ship by rail but burned down some years ago. The only shipper we have right now is Mt.Hood Lumber which loads about 4-5 centerbeams daily in Odell. We are currently not moving any Propane to the gas spur in Pine Grove. A couple of years ago Duckwall-Pooley tried to start shipping some reefers but UP's local out of The Dalles which picks up wednesday and Friday would not retrieve the cars consistently and that was that. There is almost 7 miles of track above the washout which almost all is steep in fact right under 4 percent below Parkdale. There is a nasty little section right above Trout Creek that gets really slick when the leaves are falling. Stalling here with the Heavywieghts on the Excursion Train is not that uncommon.
