According to KLEW-TV, the fire started near highway milepost 284. That would be right near CSP bridge 19, the S-shaped crossing over Hwy 95 with deck plate girder in the middle and curved timber approach trestles on either end. (It was all timber before the U.S. Hwy came underneath.) If the fire moved uphill from there, it most likely would have hit one of the smaller trestles between Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 3 (Tunnel 2 is gone). Halfmoon Trestle is above highway milepost 285, and has hopefully been spared.
