With the virtual closure of BNSF's Interbay Shop in Seattle, Amtrak's " Mud & Moss " F - 59's have become quite common on the Coast Starlate as they cycle to / from Los Angeles for major servicing. Seeing one on Train 27 / 28 is a bit more unusual; however keep in mind the Talgo trainsets are self - contained for onboard power, and can be pulled with a freight unit, albeit at lower speeds. This makes it easy to steal a unit for duties elsewhere.
