The interesteresting spur line in Bakersfield, CA??

I have nboticed on maps that just to the west of the BNSF railyard in Bakersfield, CA and just beyond the Kern River bridge there is a wye were a spur line merges with it that also connects with the UP Fresno Main line on its other end a few miles on its north end. Is this spur line used for BNSF trackage rights movements or Amtrak San Joaquin Train detours at all? Or just for switch movements?

Is this wye accessable by vehicle at all?

Aren't there actually two railyards in Bakersfield i.e. a BNSF and a UP yard?

In general does Amtrak prefer not to run regularly on a UP line if it has a choice of regular routes? But BNSF or another railroad instead?
