I know of a nice, very under-utilized railroad, located less than a half-hour's drive from Portland, right off of a freeway, that would be a MUCH better use for a unused steam locomotive and passenger train. Instead of 250 miles away in the middle of nowhere, well off of any major travel route.

(I know of another line that would also qualify, except that route is owned by UP and leased by a shortline railroad that isn't exactly accepting of public passenger excursions, so the insurance costs would be outrageous if both track owner and lessee would allow it in the first place.)
